Dekopon Mandarin Orange

Dekopon Oranges

Origin: ChinaPrice: RM 110Type: Grafted Plant

Dekopon Oranges is one of the best tasting, seedless sweet oranges in the citrus family. They are easily differentiated through their thick bumpy skin & large bump on one end. This orange, a hybrid between tangerine & orange peel like mandarin oranges and have thin membranes.

Dekopon can grow in tropical country like ours. However their colour will not be full orange, it will be greenish orange.

As with many citrus, Dekopon can be in pot, but the growth will stunt once the root outgrow the pot size. You will probably need to repot every 2 years.

Meyer Lemon

Is Meyer Lemon just another Lemon?

There is distinct difference in terms of taste & look. Meyer Lemon is smaller, rounder in comparison with Lisbon/Eureka Lemon commonly found in shops. Their skin is thinner & deeper yellow-orangey colour. Meyer orange is sweeter and less acidic as they are believe to be a cross between mandarin orange & lemon.

Meyer Lemons can be added to salad, desserts, bakes and drinks. You can enjoy loads of lemony goodness with eyes wide open.

Saffron Bulbs

Saffron Bulb
RM10 each bulb

Saffron is a spice that is derived from Saffron Crocus. It originates from Greece.  Saffron has earthy honey hay like smell. This is one of the most expensive spice by weight. This herb is used extensively in curry, baking and are often added to rice dishes in Spanish & Middle eastern cuisine. They are believe to cure stomach upsets (flatulence & cramps), blood disorder & insomnia.

Saffron plant care is not for the weak hearted. Grow saffron bulbs in rich organic soil with no water retention. Mix with 50% small pebbles or perlite or course sand. Spray water sparingly & NEVER ever use water hose or leave it out in the rain else the bulb will rot.

I have always believe that in planting plants, you need to at least give it a try and not give up!
